Well, when I went away on business my ex friend took it upon himself to get with my gf. 2 years later he is going to jail after she turned in him for being a pedophile. IMMD!

It is clear that his girlfriend found out he was a pedophile, because he probably had kids pictures, or some stuff like that.
I believe it’s how psodjk described it – Girl leaves guy (The OP) for the guys friend, thus both becomes ex’es to the OP. Then 2 years after this incident the ex-girlfriend finds out that her boyfriend (or the OP’s ex-friend) is a pedophile and turn him in.
That sure would make my day if I were the OP! That fucker of a friend got what he deserved – you don’t steal your friends gf while he is on a business trip. And you certainly don’t steal your friends gf if you are pedophile on your sparetime.
Maybe OP was within legal age of the girl (say, 19 and 16) but the friend was not (20+). At least in some states it works that way.

IT may be that the gf just used american sex offender laws to get him classified as one. They have been (unconsiously designed by “get tough on crime” politicians) to classify normal exploratory activities as sex crimes, and chances are everyone you know would qualify, you just didn’t get caught.
Sigh… Ho many morons does it take to misconstrue a simple english paragraph? How many idiots does it take to jump to conclusions while being presented with inadequate information…..
