My dad was in law enforcement for years when I was a kid and he and his buddies used to play that in the van after they had picked up someone who had a warrant out on them. At least they did until one of the people complained to the judge and the judge (while smiling and trying not to laugh) told them that it wasn’t nice and not to do it anymore.

How do they hear calls coming over the radio, then?
(And where does all the centre console stuff get mounted?)
Ofcourse they have stereos in them, they are slightly modified, like here in Belgium they get armoured, some extra power etc. The calls coming from the radio are much louder then the volume of the radio itsself(unless your deaf) and all the extra stuf just gets mounted all over the dashboard(or even built-in)

You realize cop cars are regular cars that are upgraded? Like the engine is more powerful, they tend to be more durable, can last alot longer when on idle and they have added stuff in the inside (separation gate between front/back seats, computer, etc). Regular cars come with speakers, so they have speakers too.
One of the local cops in Tyrone has that for his ring tone.
